Several weeks ago, at my small town newspaper, a kind anonymous person placed this ad in our classifieds:
Found: a sum of money. Please call 882-XXXX (the newspaper's number) and give specific details.
After many strange and illicit attempts, the money was returned to an older woman who had dropped it in an alley. She had cashed her SS check, was on a fixed income, and had bought a few small food items at the local grocery store. She does not drive, and was walking home with her bags of food, when the bank envelope fell out of her pocket.
The money ($300, roughly) was returned. There are still great and wonderful people out there. I think many of them are here.
Merry Christmas, to all you great and wonderful people! You know who you are; I am betting that all of us here would have done the same thing!

That's the sort of happening that makes life beautiful! Both for the giver and for the receiver.

I really like hearing things like that when I get overcome with the greed of the season. Thank you for sharing and giving me a warm feeling. Susan

That IS wonderful.
Here's another one I heard today. In a Starbucks drive-through in Pennsylvania, a lady paid for the coffee of the car behind her, and asked that they do something nice for someone else.
Everyone in the drive through paid for the next person's coffee for TWO HOURS!
Ho Ho Holiday! ;D

That is always nice to hear. I'm sure the lady was very grateful, as I'm guessing she's on a fixed income. What goes around, comes around!
