Sometimes I don't really think about what I have, but last night I got a little perspective.
Last night at 1 am I kept smelling my woodstove putting smoke back into my house, so I checked it a couple of times, but it was burning just fine, then I told my wife, I wish the neighbors would quit burning garbage in their fireplace. At 2 am, I decided to close a window that I had a little open in my bedroom, thinking that the wind was blowing smoke from someones chimney into my bedroom and when I looked out, my neighbors house is ON FIRE, the fire dept is already there (they must have come in quiet cause I didn't hear a thing). Of course my wife and I got dressed and went over to see if there is anything we can do. The fire was inside the attic and the whole house is filled full of smoke, we moved some of the furniture out and got some pictures out, but the smoke damage is going to pretty much ruin everything in the house. Everyone got out of the house ok, and they are safe (Thank God). We offered them a place to stay, but they are going to stay with relatives who live down the street. You really don't think about this much till it happens to you or someone close to you.
I pray that everyone of you are safe, and stay safe, and that you have a Merry Christmas.
Tony

Oh man what a shame. That'll give you some perspective alright. Glad to know that they got out ok.
