A few days ago, I replaced the original motor in my C/E with a Lortone motor. After assuring that everything was working properly, I charged two 3-lb barrels and placed them on the tumbler. When I did this, the rotation stopped even though the motor was running. After thorough investigation, I discovered that one of the plastic casings that fit around the long rotating rods in the metal frame of the tumbler was cracked in half. The portion that was broken was on the underside of the rod so that I couldn't see it. When I placed the charged barrels on the tumbler the rods then rested against the metal frame which created a strong resistance to rotation of the rods.
I have been working vigorously to create an alternative. I have tried a few things, but they only work temporarily...like a few hours. Does anyone have any other ideas for a plastic insert I can use to support the rod so that it rotates without friction or creating resistance that could ultimately ruin my new motor?
I hope anyone reading this can picture what I'm saying. Thanks for your time.
