I guess it is named for the brown/white pattern, like the horse. To me it looks like a sepia tone photograph. All but one taken wet. Looks/feels a little more sandy grained than the porcelan picture jaspers. It may be closer to hardness of Rhyolite. Will post a polished picture when I have one. Sorry, don't check this section often.
Yours is darker with more shades of red and brown. Palomini is pretty much brown and white. How hard is Georga Queen. Palamino is slightly softer like Wonderstone or Rhyloite.
Want to trade a 5 or 6 oz chunk?

The Georgia Queen has a sandy outer layer that will disappear when tumbled, turning the water into a Nestles Quick chocolate milk color. But, the inner layers are harder as in Jasper. Which it is. I try to bust these up first then use a small 3/8 " cold chisel to take off the outer layer if there is one. Or, if I'm running just the Geogia then I don't worry about the outer layer, I just clean it very well after the first 5 days. And sure I'll trade ya a chunk, I'll just break out my trusty scale and.....well, are you looking to tumble or cab? I'd have to find you a nice patterned one or at least find one that has several layers that you might have to cut down to for cabbing. So, let me know what you're looking for and send me a chunk and I'll send you a chunk. Oh yeah, one more thing about this GQPJ. It has a layer found in between some of the lighter layers that looks to be a light purple. Sort of like a light Amethyst, but I don't think it will tumble out as clear, but we'll see. I haven't tumbled any of it far enough into the stages to see what it's going to turn out like. I've got one batch that's two weeks into the 60/90 that's almost where I want it shape-wise, but it's not far enough along to start bringing out the color. If you want to wait until I can post a pic of some of those stones to give you an idea of what it could cab like, let me know. But, you could send me any kind of chunk that will break into tumbling rough. Or if you have some of this already broken up into some nice rough that would be ok too. I love anything like that last pic of yours there. Either longwise or cross cut is fine. It will be an interesting tumble just the same. Let me know what weight we're talking about so I can find you a piece or cut one to size. And don't worry, I'm trustworthy plus I have 20#'s of the stuff and bought it just for this purpose. Trading and giving. I'm working on sending some of this overseas to one of our members from Serbia for some of his Poppy. Talk about an interesting venture. Can't wait to go to the post office and fill out Customs forms. "You're sending what to where?!" "Don't they have rocks there?" There's a first time for everything!
