There was a discussion about this material in the photo section a few weeks back, but I see the pic is no longer there, so I'll put a couple up here. This material comes from Madagascar and seems to go by a wide array of very similar names. It is believed to be a fossil stromatolite. Note that there is a different material (Kabamby or Kabamby ocean jasper) that is related to ocean jasper, but has a confusingly similar name to this stromatolite. Pics taken wet. -Don rough: slab:

I am sure someone knows what to call it, but for now I agree with the others, amazing and beautiful. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Now I see that 'westcoastgems' is listing another variation as Kumbaba. Also from Madagascar. So right now he's got listings for Kabambi and Kumbaba but no Kambaba or Kabamba. Rich
