Yup, i concer. Though ive always go by BC ocean picture stone, or rock. As its not a mineral but a mixture. The blue ive been told is cuased by copper, but is not a silica. More like a serpentine.

yup, it has been mined out for sometime. But you can find pieces come up for sale on ebay. Or at rockshops around the NW, USA. Here is a cabochon i did out of some highgrade with dendrites/

It is a mix of jasper and an agate type material. The best piece (according to how it is priced) have little bits and pieces of brown jasper mixed in with the blue and then a solid blue band above and below. This gives the impression of a rocky shore with the ocean beyond. I have seen some nice dendrites and larger pieces of jasper that look like cliffs. I have seen a couple with a sandy texture and color jasper with the blue. The blue by itself is very nice. It is pricey. I was paying about 30 dollars a pound for slabs. Needless to say, I only got a little bit.
