can someone tell me what this rock is? i found it in a wash bleow a bedrock mount in Encino Hills near the Santa Monica Mtns. 2 pieces were found as well as a fossilized clam shell they were all in a 3 ft' radius of one another the 2nd pic is the other side of the rock thanks for any help

Hard to tell from the photos, but it may be some type of sedimentary rock with quartz or calcite veins (highly probable if you found a fossil clam nearby).

Not really sure what it is, but any rock in southern CA is a good one. Santa Monica, Channel Islands, are some of my favorite places to go to. Hope you find more.
