Got these two on eBay the other day. They look great in person, I'm wondering if there is another name for them, the seller called them "Carmel Agates". and Any ideas? thanks. granpaw

Looks like Brazilian Agate to me. Probably called it caramel agate because of the color. If you look at the agate books, I think a more correct term would be sard or sardonyx which is usually used to refer to banded agate from any location where the color leans more towards the cream, yellow or brown end of the color scale. Were it agate that leaned more towards red or orange, it'd be carnelian.....Mel
