John - Up late last night huh? I figured you were probably just shortening the name a bit...but I'm pretty new and wanted to make sure it was the same stuff..Looks like it is... ...hopefully Cher will get her box of blue rocks today! Wow is that stuff gorgeous, the blue is really amazing. I'll get some photos of what Dan sent me soon as I can, just kind of tied up with family matters at the moment. Dan, thanks for sharing the pretty blue stuff with me, (you think I'm going to try spelling that?) it's really awesome.

Dumortreite is found in many places around the world, YOu can still find it in Arizona, near the California borad outside of Yuma. IT is also found on the california side. Recently theres been allot coming out of Africa which has dark color.

Glad to hear you made the sale John! It's a beautiful cab and wrap! Gemkoi - Thanks for the info...I really like working with that stuff (Dumer..) it seems to be similar to Aventurine. Do you know what it's composed of? JoAnn - You mean the blue rocks are lying around on the ground just waiting to be picked up???!! You lucky so and so!.... Darker blue huh? I bet that's pretty! I just bought some more from my local rock shop..probably came from W.L. Cotton...no idea where it originated. It's a lighter blue and has some white streaky lines....very nice. I have some Dumor free forms in 120/220 ....checked 'em last night....loooking pretty sweet...I'll post some pics when they finish..

I would happily share the dumortierite from around here, but the season is over for us on the 15th & we'll be heading for KS on our way to Washington state, then to British Columbia, then to N. CA for the summer. Gold season is almost here. Will try to get a bunch of really nice pieces when we come back in the fall & will share them then.
