Tweety, look at the one I just did, the rhodonite one. I think you can see pretty plainly the wrap on the bail. I shape the bail and keep something inside of it to hold it's shape while I wrap another wire around the bail to hold it. Sometimes I take one of the four wires that make the bail and wrap that around the others then just do something with the three that are left.

I have the exact same problem Tweetie. Thanks for the explanation Cher. You make it sound easier then it actually is

I have found that most of the time it's easier to wrap a separate piece around the wires that make the bail. You can also trim them off so you cover the ends when you wrap them. Just make sure you leave them long enough that they won't pull out.

why dont ya take a bic pen and bend the wire around that it makes an even bend in all the wires at the same time thats what i use ---doc showed me with a screwdriver but i find it to heavy to work with wile im tryin not to scratch up the wire and what not ---i find the pen works for me

I tried a pen too but thought it made the bail too big. I've got some small files that have plastic handles and those are just about right. I'm always looking to find something that would work easier and not be to big that it makes it awkward to work with.

Actually I meant actually wrapping the bail - Cher what about crochet hooks or knitting needles?
I think I'll have so much less trouble if I get the dead soft wire - except I need to get some 22 gauge - 20 is just way too big for my tiny cabs - I'll have to use that stuff up for making wigjig designs (now that's an idea!)

Aww yes tweety, you might find something of the perfect size in crochet hooks, nice and smooth too so they'd slide out easily. That's a great idea, I'll have to check mine out and see what I have in there.
