Ok - I had my 3rd and final (in this town) wire warpping class today. I wraped a river stone of the instructor, and one of my tumble-finished picture jasper cabs. (clickable thumbnails) I need a better picture of the river stone - some trouble with focus. But, it is not much to look at anyway. I am more pleased with the picture jasper, but I can see many areas for improvement. I neet to play with different gauges wire and see what my taste is. Also, I need to develop a stem/bail that I like better.

I like them - I too have problems with the bail - can't get them right!

they look better than my 1st one. What ga wire did you use? Looks like you used square wire, which I find is the easiest to use. The stem/bail, I think, is the most dificult part but with a little practice it will get better (that's what I keep telling myself)

Very good for first times Daniel. Keep practicing, that's the only way to "get good" at it.
One thing about the bail ... every one turns out different depending on what you do with the ends of the wire so don't try to make it the same each time. Use different numbers of wire in the bail for variety too, don't make them all the same.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing (IMHO) is the smoothness of the bindings. If it's twisted and not laying smoothly side by side, it cheapens the look of it. Also, practice on putting the same tightness in the wraps. After looking at the overall look of the wrap, the areas where you bind the other wires together are one of the first things looked at so they require some serious attention.
