sands may can tell you more about what this is and where you get one but he gave me this one and it is the best tool for holding the wires together while you bind them. i've only been using one but two might be even better. i've been clamping one end and using masking tape on the other while i bind in the center of the two. kim

Yeah, I'd like one. I have been putting temporary wraps at the ends while I try to place the real ones and make them tight and neat. This would be a step up.

i told him y'all would want some lol. he's going to try to get some sent here so pm him if you want one or two. they really help and they will not mar the wire with those rubber pieces. i don't know what they really are but they are perfect for holding the wires together.

Seems like one could glue some rubber to small a pair of vise grips and it would do the same thing!? But then again, maybe that's why I gave up trying to wrap stones!

Thanks Kim, I might think of how to make something simular over here, the rubber jaws would be the most difficult part. its a real intersting clamp.

That's pretty cool. I just use tape myself but I suppose with that once you start wrapping you can just move it right down the line as you wrap, keeping it perfectly smooth. Very cool!!

I've got a few of these Kim, but haven't mastered them yet! I just stick to low tack painters tape. Preston Reuther sells these on his website for a couple of bucks each.

What a neat surplus site. I got a few, but then I got some rollers and bearings too. Seems I have been thinking about replacing more then the motor on my dead Thumbler.

I know this is an old thread, but I finally got some of these thing-a-ma-bobs. There was a show here last weekend and a vendor had some. I purchased 4 of them for 1.95 each. Yes Kim, you are right!! They make wrapping so much easier!! Thanks for the tips!!!! Tonja
