Here's my first wrap. I used copper colored 20gauge copper colored artistic wire. I can't figure out how to get the wire up close to the stone on the sides - the wraps seem to hold it out a bit. But, the stone isn't going anywhere so I'm kind of happy. Adter I was done I also noticed that one side has an extra wrap on it and that from the rear I can still see an end or two and I neede to even it out... But, here goes... Front Back

I'm liking that! very nice - for the side wraps, I find half round wire works good or rectangular wire makes it less bulky
Is that malachite? I like the top!

this is very nice Shelby! Half round for the bindings will lay down much flatter, and using square wire will snug up to the sides a little better for you. Also using lighter wire-this looks like 20G. I've been using 20 and 22G half round for my bindings, and 21 and 22 square for the wrap.

aaaaaaaah...I'll have to order online from the states. Haven't found a Canadian source for the square and 1/2 round yet.
Tweetie - have you found a Canadian supplier? The cab is a piece of the local jade that i cut up. It has lots of impurities which I think make it funky.
Yup, it's 20G. Definitely using finer wire would get me closer (and be easier to use!!)

You make square, and 1/2rd wire. You will need a draw plate. Once you get used to it, it is fun.
