I did a few new wraps - this is addicting!! I love it - I'm almost constantly thinking about rocks and wraps!! This is a piece of the local jade with impurities wrapped in 5 wires of 20g HH round sterling silver. This is a Queen Charlotte Island agate wrapped in 5 wires of 20g HHsquare sterling silver This is my first ring - sodalite stone in 4 wires, of 20g non-tarnish silver artistic wire Here's the matching pendant 5 wires, 20g non-tarnish silver Artistic Wire Here's another ring - moss agate - 2" long! (I did this first, the sodalite next, the jade after that and then the agate.) 4 wires, 20g non tarnish Artistic Wire

Wow girl, you do have the bug don't you. I think it's great that you've ventured right into the rings as well as pendants. I haven't yet tried them, what did you use to hold the shape of the ring while you wrapped it? Also ... what was the hardness of the wire?

Hi Cher, Thanks! I've been using 20g and it doesn't say HH or anything, but it is quite similar to the feel of the HH sterling silver wire (it's Artistic Wire - their website is - artisticwire.com). It's fairly inexpensive. I use the non-tarnish silver. I haven't let myself use softer wire because I don't want to get used to it and then switch back to the hard stuff. I just used the ring mandrel to hold the shapesf the rings. After the initial twist, I took the ring off. Put it back on a couple of times and again at the end to make sure it was size properly. It's hard not to put any kinks in the rings. I'm still lousy at making the backs look nice (which is why none are shown :-})

Did you bind the bands of the ring together like on the side of the pendant?

The bands of wire for the rings are brought up and around the mandrel, then twisted horizontally in opposite directions. two wires are wrappedlike the side wraps of the pendants, only a couple of times and one end is left long - these are used to stablize the rings... then the rock is placed on top. I started with the Moods in Wire book patterns. It ended up being not so hard. I just didn't leave the side wires out where they could be seen - the stones on these two are really big so I didn't think the extra wire would add anything.

WOW, I can not wait for my book to come in. I ordered it last week, hopefully it will be here soon. I think those rings are nice and the cabs a great. It seems the rings would be hard. Great job and Thanks for sharing! Tonja
