Hi Tonja, my wife says if your mom doesn't like it, she will take it! Seriously, it looks great, only wish I could do that!

Holy cow! What a clever way to wrap! Now that really shows off the stones and looks awesome! Your mom's gonna love that forever! That looks like it would be a wonderful way to wrap and show off standard calibrated oval cabs without detracting from the pattern too. remarkable!....mel

I think you did an excellent job on that Tonja. Your mother will treasure that not only because you made it, but because it is a very classy looking pendant.

Ok you sold me. I was questioning myself on the design. Didn't know if I should have turned the bottom stone horizonal. Also wondered if the "prongs" were to thick and if I needed to trim them to 1 wire instead of double wires. The top opal slides so it can be closer or farther apart. I guess nobody saw the chip I gave the top stone trying to tighten the prongs, thats a good thing LOL. It's really not noticeable unless it's pointed out. Thanks for all the compliments. You guys can make a girl feel good ;D. Tonja

Wow!! Indeed T you did a fine job, im sure your Mom wont have a problem falling in love at frist site with it. MY only concern is after allot of wear, can it come loose? I only say this as Banjo did me a wrap last year that recently came loose just from being worn, but not full time. He gonna fix it, but if ma didnt catch it coming loose, the stone would of fallin out. But the wrap also wasnt like this, with the prongs on top more, So i would assume that gonna hold it better? BUt im not a wire expert so i only ask.

You did a wonderful job setting off the stones. Jamie

Well, we had a dinner for Mom tonight for her birthday as tomorrow is the day, and I gave her the pendant. She said it was pretty and put it in her purse. She didn't show it to anyone. Than my Dad gave her some diamond earrings and she cried and showed everyone. Not the reaction I was hoping for, but oh well, I tried. Maybe she liked them and just didn't know how to say it. I showed her the ring and she wanted it, she put it on her finger and that was that. I thought the ring was to messed up but she wanted it anyway. Go figure.

I'm sorry she didn't get as excited as you hoped. You did a wonderful job on the pendant. I hope you're able to talk to her and let her know how you feel.

Thanks Shelby. It wasn't like I was excpecting her to jump up and down or anything, but I figured she would have at least showed my 2 sisters and maybe ask how I did it or something. Oh well, I had alot of fun learning how to shape the opals and everything. A special THANKYOU to Snowdog for his generousity and to everyone else for your encouragement as I muttaled through. Don't worry, I'm not giving up on the jewlery making, It just makes me want to make more!!! ;D Tonja

That is a lovely style, T. It would work well with a variety of shapes. The thinner and shorter you can make the prongs and still hold the stone firmly, the better. I hope you show us more of that.
