i like them all but i really like the one you are calling biggs. are you sure it isn't bruneau? what is the background you used in that one? i like it whatever it is.

Kim- the background is a piece of coral and yes it could be bruneau, I apologize. I have learned so many new words in the last few months but I still haven't been able to keep the rocks straight. KimJ

i think the green one might be variscite. at first i thought it might be chrysoprase but i did a search on pics of variscite and it can be this dark bright green and has that darker color in it sometimes. maybe someone that knows will tell us.

I'm guessing the top one is Rim Jasper aka Bat Cave Jasper. It is often mistaken for the darker variety of Bruneau. In Rim Jasper the Cream Color usually just stops and onto the next color where Bruneau blends in more...I like the wrap on that stone too. They look good...I agree either Varascite or maybe a low end piece of the very rare Mawsitsit from Burma...Take care-Dale Rhode

Ooh! Those are nice looking wraps! I agree with you guys too. Rim Jasper from the Ochoco Rim area near Prineville, Oregon and variscite, probably from Utah. Really like the shape on the Rim Jasper cab too. Shows off the stones pattern well......mel

Howdy Kim, I have a piece of this somewhere in my collection but couldn't find it. Here's a pic of part of a page from my quartz gem notebooks. The rim jasper is on the right and the pattern in that cab is obtained by cutting almost parallel to the veining....mel

The stone in the middle is primavera, or that is my guess. The yellow is Wulfenite, Orange is Mimetite and the green is Wherryite maybe even a touch of Fornacite, that is more of a neon green.
Does the matrix seem to be a lot harder than the colored area of the stone?

What-ever they are, the wraps are very nice. I like the way you curled the top of #3. Nice job there pbpd81. Tonja

desertdweller- No the matrix didn't seem any harder than the color. Thanks to all for the compliments. I have never heard of the Rim but the cab does look simular to sabre52's picture. Unfortunately I didn't have a whole piece or even a slab I got it from a bucket of saw trimmings. KimJ
