Here's two more wraps. These are more practice for a project for someone. The last photo is the backs with a cool way i thought to secure the two loops for the chain so it's stronger. Actually, it may already be the way it's done. I dunno, but it made sense to me. You can see the chewed up wire too. Does anyone have any thoughts about plastic coated pliars or do I just have to be more careful? Thanks for looking! Steve Blue lace agate: Purple sage agate: Same thing held up to the sun: Backs with made-up (possibly) technique. Theblue lace agate uses 24GA round wire for wraps and the Purple sage agate uses 21GA half-round wire:

steve you have mastered it and those are beautiful! either of these will work to stop that wire chewing - keep a roll of masking tape handy and wrap all of your pliers. i tear mine into short pieces and layer them with 3 pieces of tape on each side then cut it off on the back side. if you see the tape starting to wear through take it off and retape the pliers. tool magic is great too - you dip your pliers in the tool magic which gives a nice coat of soft plastic like stuff. the only draw back to the tool magic is that you have to let your pliers dry overnight and i have no patience to wait on it to dry.

Pretty wraps, I like the purple sage. Like you I don't know if that's the way the backs should be but I do that alot. I also use tape on the pliers but never thought to use more than one layer always just change the tape with each new wrap. Kim do you know it the tool magic wears down like the tape? KimJ

Kim I think the tool magic has to be re-applied as it does wear down... May I just comment??? I really love the purple sage - it's beautiful, but I'd try to cut the wires so they don't show at the front of the piece. as in the bail wraps on the purple piece - it just looks more flawless.
I love both of them and I'm ever so thankful to you for posting pictures of the back - never know what to do with those ends - I'd have to say, you've found your calling - I still think you've kidnapped Cher, they kinda look like her wraps! (which may be why we haven't seen her in a while!)

Very nice wraps!! Kim's idea of using masking tape works great and you don't have to wait. Thanks for the pics, I really like the wraps. Tonja

yes the tool magic wears down and then you pull it off and redip your pliers. i can get 2 wraps out of either method. sometimes i can start into a 3rd one but i'm pushing my luck here and better keep a close eye if i start the 3rd one.

Great job! I love what you've done with the decorative wire ends. Those always stump me! I use the masking tape trick too.
