I found this while checking out my daily sites and found this to be quite spectacular (and the fact that it's made of sterling silver just makes it all the more wonderful!) I'll probably "borros" the idea and give it a try soon - except it will be made of stainless steel (maybe sterling silver if it should work out okay) Thought I'd share

That is beautiful, I have thought about doing something like that, but I have been busy with my best seller pieces. Tami

That's beautiful. I've done that pattern before but never thought to put a center piece like that. I'm gonna have to give this one a try soon!

Wow that is really nice. Tweet, when you made your cab like that, do you do the rings then glue it around the stone or what?

Cher they must be glued on as they pop out if no glue is used. -
There are at least two different ring sizes used here, maybe three with the wrapped cab part
Of course the fact that it's made of shiny sterling silver makes it all the more beautiful
But I really want to try this out anyways - would make a nice chocker too!

Wow, beautiful piece. Is that what is considered 'chain mail?' And, can you crochet wire? Anyone ever tried? I do string crochet (small stuff), why not thin wire? Would have to be very thin and flexible wire, or it would kink. Just an idea... but intriguing.

Karen: yes you can crochet wire, Beadandbutton.com has some free patterns for wire crocheting - I can't do it but it can be done and it is very nice.
and yes that's chainmailling
