Jee.. thanks guys. I had a big old rusty needle nose plyers. It was totally relaxing! I have a couple of books on hold from the library and I'll save up for one of those kits. Even right now.. I want to try another! lol I mean, this first one leaves tons to be desired and I feel like I really chickened out doing a Quartz Point, but I may have found a reasonable hobby. This is pretty exciting stuff isin't it! I used to just collect Rocks and Minerals but now it seems I've found a whole new reason to spend alot more money on Rocks.. never mind just the tumbling!! hehehe.. My poor husband! Tammy

Ok, since I've only observed wire wrapping, is it wrapped around or through the crystal? It looks real nice! Craft stores on-line (and locally) have good starter tool kits that aren't too expensive. It makes a huge difference when you have the right tools to use!

I also am at my first wrapping tries. The four swirls in the top are really very nice.

Without tools??!! pretty good... and I'll let you in on a little secret. Points are harder to wrap than cabs!! good job.

I agree with Joi, points are more difficult than cabs. You did a great job.

takilasunrise, the wire is wrapped around the crystal not through. But, for some reason it holds in in very well. Sure is fun. Also, jonje.. did you say you had a link to a website with non tarnishing wire? Tammy

I think it's cool, I've got a crystal very similar and have been debating on wrapping it.

Wow, without tools? It came out great. I like the swirls on top. I see you now have the wire wrapping bug. There's no turning back now.
What kind of kits are you talking about? I dodn't know they made kits. If the kit has a lot of extra things you don't need, maybe you can just piece enough together. I spent about $25 in pliars, a pair of tweezers and a pin vise and it's all you need. Aside from the wire.
BTW, a 3-d object like a crystal is very brave on your first try too. Cabs and flat stones are much more manageable. Great job! Steve
