I thought I'd post some of my more recent wraps on the board. I've finished all of these since "the Blitz" while waiting for hours during the day to actually look at my rocks I picked up there. Enjoy! Koi Jasper (I think) from Sands This next one was labelled Black & White Agate at the Big Spring rock show, but this cab stuck out with the peachy shading. Not sure what it really is. Ocean Jasper from Trish (ArkieRockHound) The next two are my first attempts at necklaces. I'm pleased with them, and so are the recipients, so that's what counts, right? Boulder Opal from Sands (THANKS SANDS!!!) with yellow jade & Tiger Eye beads- for my niece's 10th birthday. There's a matching bracelet for her. She was kinda pouty that her sister now is allowed to wear earrings and she's not. So this was my response. Unknown Agate Cab from Big Spring rock show with Botswana beads and pearls. My sister had claimed the Botswana beads and asked me to make her a "grey" necklace. This cab seemed to fit.

Very nice Ronda, what are you using - wire? The 2nd one looks kinda like montana agate and I think that one is my fav, but the last one is really sharp too.

Whoops - all except the BO cab are 22G SS DS - there's both round and square up there - with 22G SS HH HR. The BO cab is 24G SS HH square w/ 24G SS HH HR.

Those are gorgeous! I'm wondering where you got the beads, or do you make them? Do you thread on wire like the "Bead Retreat" thing, or something else? I really love the stone/bead mix.

Karen - the yellow jade and tiger's eye beads came from Hobby Lobby or Michael's. I can't remember which one. The Botswana beads and the pearls I purchased from LimaBeads.com. When I first started tumbling, I loved looking at the beads at LimaBeads because they were all stone and the pictures were excellent. I had grand visions of making my own beads...and then I read how long it takes to drill one stone.
I have two necklaces strung on actual fishing line, one on nylon coated stainless steel, and I have one laid out that I was going to try a waxed thread with. So far, I prefer the fishing line over the actual beading wire. ;D

I get a kick out of all the wrappers talk,
Oh yeah, #1 that SOB is 24G SH with SETHTS 22 GC Square and #2 is AG 24 SWISW with HH hard TU....
Please let me translate the sentence above to English for all of those people (like myself) who do not speak wrapper.
Oh yeah, #1 that SOB (SOB= son of a Banker?) is 24 G (G= guessing) SH (something hard) with SETHTS, (something else thats hard to spell) 22GC (GC= guesses count) square < (I threw that in because I see it a lot) and #2 is AG (AG = another guess) 24 SWISW, (SWISW= sure wish I spoke wrapper) HH (HH= hint hint) hard TU (TU= to understand).
Would you mind taking me aside and explaining all of CC (CC= crazy crap) going OMH (over my head)?
WGAI TY

LOL Jamie! DS = Dead Soft (be careful or it might bend in a different direction) HH = Half-Hard (or harder than heck to bend nicely and make stay in place) FH = Full- Hard (or pure torture for the amature wrapper (such as me) to even contemplate using for anything other than poking people) HR = Half-Round (one side is flat ) So, the Boulder Opal cab (which I almost spelled out, cause I think it's prettier than BO ;D) is 24 guage Sterling Silver Half-Hard square wire with 24 guage Sterling Silver Half-Hard Half-Round binding wires.

Ronda, Since you posted those pics I have been trying to find the right way to describe how I saw them. Regal was all I could think of, but tonight it hit me!! "Luckenbooth" they remind me of that, especially the fourth one. For you heathens of non Scottish decent, Lukenbooth is a traditional Scottish jewelry design normally given to the lass upon engagement. It is in brooch, or neck less form and usually has a crown of some kind. But of course it is also made in earrings, and rings. And of course it doesn't hurt that some designs have a M in the middle. www.baxtersjewellers.com/acatalog/Luckenbooth_Jewelry.htmlSpike

Tee he he, Hermy, you are funny girl. You too Tweet, wouldn't it be weird to talk like that all the time? I understood all of what you said easy enough, I just couldn't figure out the hh and the fh or the hr. I used to work with the SS once in a while and its sold by the foot also in half round, square, double half round, etc..... I guess I just never put the two together. Thanks so much Rhonda for taking the time to explain.

I was really confused a few months ago, and asked some SQ, and everyone was VN and EH. Hah hah, someone should make a contest out of this. I bought some books on wire wrapping, and finally figured out the GF, SS, HH, DS, etc. RTH Codebreaking 101 for WW and JM.
