I thought you all might like to see my first gallery submission piece. It's a bad pic...I'm working on that today. However, it does give you an idea...each curl is individually wrapped with 2 to 3 feet of 26 gauge SS wire. The larger stone is a Smoky Quartz hand set with reverted prongs underneath to hold the stone in, multi colored Tourmaline, and I believe a 6mm yellow citrine. I need to test it and make sure. Anywho...I hope you enjoy!

Is that like a necklace? I'm sorry if that sounds "duh" but I've never seen anything like it so am wondering. Wouldn't know if I didn't ask. ;D Whatever it is, it's beautiful! I sure don't envy the job of doing all that wrapping, must have taken you hours. What kind of gallery are you submitting this to? Is this something local you have where you live? Sounds really neat, inquiring minds need to know and all that. *smile* What kind of wire did you use? (gauge etc) Can we see a close up of the other side with the darker stone too please? How did you make all the little gems stay in place? How long have you been wrapping?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really stunned at the work and how pretty it is.
PS .. Can we see a closeup of the inbetween part too please? Are those wires just side by side or do you have them attached to each other some how?

That is WOW!! Just beautiful!! I'm asking too...do you have a pic of it on a person? It's just gorgeous, so dramatic. Thanks for sharing!! (I haven't been brave enough yet to do a large piece like that. Beautiful design and execution!)

Wow! That is something else.. thanks for the close up. I haven't seen anything like it before either. How long did it take you to make that? Tammy

okie doke...here is another view... This bugger took about 2 weeks on and off...about an hour or more per curl...the "dark" stone is a smokey quartz with great fire (poor picture) handset with reverted prongs underneath to hold the stone in there ...the small stones are tourmalines from 3 to 6mm...each wire is individually wrapped and then attached to other wires while wrapping...you try and leave some room for attachments, but it gets pretty dang tight sometimes. ack! I used 20 & 26 gauge round and 21 gauge half hard square wire...there is about 2 to 3 feet of 26g per curl...This baby will run around $1,200 in an Art Gallery that I submitted to. (not local) I've been wrapping since about 2002. BTW...I give private lessons! lol.... I hope I answered all the questions. oh...no I will not model it...I'm too old!...but it is a comfortable necklace to wear and DH thinks it beautiful too. That is worth it right there!

Almost all thank you. Still wondering about the part that goes around the neck, are those wires attached to each other somehow or do they just lay side by side?

ooops...all the wires are seperate that go around the neck...they are mallable in order to conform to the shape you want. It is kinda like a bangle bracelet...only for the neck and it is not as stiff and hard...very fluid and comfortable actually. NO...I do not use any tool for the coiling...all hand done...one wrap at a time. Honest Injun...I am a bit Cherokee. yup, I am. Any more questions? I'll answer if I can. Thanks for the kuddos ya'll. I appreciate it truly.

I don't think they make any tools for coiling wire around another piece do they? I've never seen one anyway. Thanks for your patience with all the questions, it is a truly beautiful piece, best of luck on your sale.

Wow, can you take like 10 pictures and post them all? I could look at that all day long. What a unique piece. So..Do you have anything else that you have submitted that we didn't get to see? What a beautiful piece of art. I bet the people that will be displaying it will be tickled pink.

No problemo about all the questions...been there myself. I don't know of a tool for coiling wire around another piece of wire either. I wouldn't buy it if they did...as it would take all the fun out of making a piece like this. lol Yep, I submitted 2 other pieces...neither as intricate...one middle ground and the other simplistic. I'll post em in another thread. I truly appreciate all the kind words. and...YES my fingers did hurt (still do).
