WHile walking by the loading dock where the garbage gets piled up, I noticed a butt load of copper wire we were throwing away. Some of it was real thick, heavy gauge suitable for sculpting - I think. Some was real thin. Is it worth using for learning to wrap? Thanks in advance for your wisdom!

Any wire will work if it is soft enough to work with. You can clean copper wire with lemon juice and salt. Seal it with Future floor wax. Keeps it shiny longer. To learn border wraps, it is easier to use square wire and half-round for binding the wires together. brandywinejewelrysupplies.com carries copper wire.

Most definitely. Besides using it in creations there is a big market for copper right now, to the point that people are stealing it. Is the wire electrical wire? If it is there is a coating on it which is a plus. In fact if it wouldn't be too much trouble I would love to have some of it for my wire jewelry. Tami

Tami - I offered some of it to my boss. If she wrinkles her nose at it, I'll let you know. It's electical wire. I do have a butt load. Hmmmm, PM me with your address and I'll see what I can do. I'm going on 2 weeks of vacation to scuba dive, but after returning in July, I'll get my poop in a group and send some to you.

Tami - she loved it and took it all for herself! Sorry - but I keep looking for more.
