Hey gang! I haven't been able to post for a while - busy with work, life and private commissions. Here's my latest. (I added a back view for Tweety!) 20g Copper frame with 28g acrylic-coated copper wrapping. Milky quartz from the Queen Charlotte Islands in the shape the ocean created, I just shined her up a bit. I didn't want to fuss with it, because I fell head-over-heels in love with the pattern in it. Hand polished on grinder because I still can't get my vibe to do anything I'm happy with. The rotary and hand polishing still work the best for me, but I haven't given up on Mr. Thumler!!! back view

Love copper! Very unique design. I'm working on a woven piece right now...hope to get it done soon. Questions: I take it you coil long pieces of wire and then curl it however you want? or...do you make a coil and add it to your wires and then do your pattern? I've know people to do both. I do it backwards on a lot of my designs...have to actually. ack! Anywho, way to go! and Thanks for the pic.

Hmmm - I've gotta get some copper to play with! It goes so well with that stone - nice merge of metal into stone into metal again.

Thanks everyone! Hi Nancy - ya know, every time I do one I swear I do it differently. On this one I coiled in place with a really long fragment of wire (Artistic Wire). Sometimes I use my automatic screwdriver with a piece of wire and wrap around it. Sometimes I get a bunch of coils made in advance and slide them onto the piece...I guess it all depends on how organized I'm being!!! I can only do the coiling in place with really soft wire though. I like doing that when I'm watching tv. I really enjoy your work - especially how you add the snapsets and faceted gems. I find this style sells the best for me. I notice though that I get in a hurry to attach everything because I get so excited, that the last and MOST VISIBLE wraps end up messy. I have to watch that. Akansan - get that inexpensive Artistic Wire. It's incredibly easy to play with and won't break the bank AND it doesn't turn your skin green. But, I've found I really have to be careful with the pliers on it because the coating gets mucked up easily and then I'm hooped! I only use hammered effects on un-coated wire too - just seems to work better.

Yup, I love his work. I cannot begin to imagine the patience and time he puts into each piece. They are so multidimensional. There's a group of people on Deviant Art into that particular style. There are a lot of people who enjoy it. I think it's fun to explore the different styles.

oh yes...Issac of nattywraps is great. He's a nice guy too. yeah...there are a bunch of ways to do things. I know what you mean about getting excited when you are finishing a piece. Well...if I really like it anywho. The one I have been working on...I'm not that thrilled with. ack! I will probably redo it.

Hi Shelbeeray! Good to see you posting again! I like the wrap and after looking at your wrap and some of the stuff on Nattywraps I'm inspired to try more 'outside the box' wire wraps.
Thanks for the link Susan! Dan

Very original and pretty wrap, the bail is so unique! You must have an endless patienty to coil all those wires!
Welcome back and glad to "meet" you!
