ok...I'm not pleased particularly with this piece. I think I will redo it or just trash it all together. There are spots that just aren't up to my expectations. The top curl that is woven and covers the bail was the pits. The lower wire was much shorter than the top and it just wouldn't cooperate. Anywho, I thought I'd show you all, cause I said I would. The first pic is laying down and it was side heavy...making it look lopsided, which it is not. I tried so many pics and finally gave up. I'm still learning my new camera. ;D

welllllll thanks guy, but it is not very good to me. Only one side came out well and that is the right one. The left isn't all that great either. I'm serious...if someone tried to buy this sucker off of me, I'd be embarressed. Atleast I discovered how to do those mirror type bottom shots! yea!!!!

I'd buy it! But I understand how it is when something doesnt measure up to your own standards. If you are really unhappy with it you should probably re-do it so that it wont haunt you forever.

ok weeshan...when it is redone or whatever...it'll be for sale. lol.... dang Tweetie...I even gave you underneath shots! ha ha haaaaaa Word to the wise...use half hard wire for prongs...you will be glad you did. Measure your stone with quilters tape...then down size it a tad as this will be your base. Find the center...and estimate where you want your bottom prongs. Start from the center and work towards the wire ends...after you've made those prongs, then go for the other(s)... I'd go more indepth, but I may be putting out an e-book...

Nancy I know how it is. We are harder on ourselves than others are. Still it is a very lovely piece. I just don't get how you do it!

That's too bad Nancy... chalk it up to experience I guess huh? Looks like you put a lot of work into it too.... well... I'm glad you posted the pics... This week I've seen so many unusual wraps and different techniques... I think I will try the webbing on my next one! Thanks, Dan

I am a perfectionist, so I know the frustration an artist feels when a dedicated piece just doesn't measure up. Please keep in mind, though, that beauty truly is in the eyes of the beholder. There are many of us who, if you hadn't told us you wanted to trash it or redo it, would be salivating at the possibility of owning this piece. Heck! there are many of us who are salivating hoping you will consider our trash piles as the perfect receptacle for this piece. (Did I mention that we recycle trash here so this would be a good place to send your wrap?)
Despite your own feelings of frustration and displeasure, I think this wrap is crazy beautiful and very appealing. :-)

I think its very nice too. A hundred times better then anything i've tired to do. Whenever you don't want something, i'm here also, if you make enough of them that you don't like, we can all get one. lol

OH Nancy-it really wasn't as bad as your eyes told you. When I first saw the picture it took a while for me to figure out exactly what was going on with it! but the more I looked at it, the prettier it got. I always take a break from a piece and put it away before I trash it. Often, when I go back to look at it later, it has grown on me! I've got so much stuff that I look at and hate that other people love. Eyes of the beholder for sure, and as artists, our own eyes are the most critical. Thanks for sharing your "trash" with us-it's always a delight!!

I like it VERY much, but probably that severity to yourself brought you where you are now (meaning in the top).

Hey Nancy, Sorry you weren't happy with it because a lot of work went into it. But, if it doesn't feel right, then it's not. FTR I think it's a sweet design. I find the toughest part of doing the weaves is keeping the wires square AND avoiding those extra bends and dents - except where we want them THEN on the curves, keeping the flippin' weave even and if that weren't enough getting excited at the end and getting the final wraps messy. But, in the end, it's so darned rewarding when we create what we envision, or if we're lucky - something better!!
