I can't seem to find my mojo. Every time I sit down to wrap, it just doesn't feel right. I have all these wonderful stones and no spark. This is a total bummer.

I know the feeling Jonje. I've had a mental block for awhile myself. Hope yours doesn't last as long, your pics have sparked some feelings in me. Come on now, only one wrapper at a time can have a block!! LOL Hope to see you wrapping again soon! Tonja

Didn't I just send you a bunch of cabs? ;D Now go to your room and start wrapping and don't come out until you have something wrapped! ;D ;D ;D

I've been there jonje. The muse is tricky. Sometimes I try to fool her by rearranging everything on my rock table...sometimes that works. Sometimes I'll peruse other sites to get inspiration...I find the eni oken site really good for this. And when THAT doesn't work I try hauling out the paint brushes and flinging paint at a canvas. It's cathartic and not rock related but it gets me thinking about creating art. Then again, sometimes...sometimes...well....I curl up in a corner and play with lint. It'll come back. Don't worry...you just can't push the creative juices.

It'll return - just peruse other wraps and sometimes inspiration will come - sometimes looking at wrapping and beading materials will cause inspiration to come crashing through.
Herm, while playing with your lint in that there corner, did you know you can mould stuff with lint? -like playdough

I think you should trysomething different as well, Jeremy. Get some wire that you don't normally use or maybe try a wire sculpture w/out a cab. Here's some inspiration... www.nattywraps.comlight-records.comHopefully you'll get your mojo back soon! Dan

Ah Jeremy, I feel your pain. To want desperately to create and to realize that one's fickle Muse is off enticing another--oh, that hurts so deeply. I haven't yet learned how to cab and/or wrap but I know what you have done in the past has been an inspiration and a joy for so many here at RTH. I hope your Muse returns quickly. Mine was with me when I saw your wrapped shell... Legacy I carry the Sea with me Safely tucked close near my heart Her precious gifts she shares with me each day Lying on cool sands for me to find I am a daughter of the Sea Temporarily confined to harsh cold land So I carry the Sea with me Safely tucked close near my heart One day I will rejoin my Mother One day Earth shall lose her hold on me Until that longed for time gently enfolds me I carry the Sea with me Safely tucked close near my heart Lady B

Well that is certainly different. Trying to make one of those would be even worse than trying to enter Lady B's poetry contest.
I feel another headache coming on.

when i lose my more delicate muse, i get out the sledgehammer and pound on some rock. gets the blood pumping and the back muscles straining. then the muse realizes it's much easier to sit at the grinder.

I sometimes feel that way. I figure the best thing to do is just to do it without thinking about it. You already know how to make amazing wraps. If you think about it too much or put too much preassure on yourself then you get frustrated. Just let your mind be quiet and your fingers do the work. That's what works for me, with cabbing also. Speaking of, if I get stuck I sometimes cab to get myself out of the funk. That works too. Steve

Here Jeremy, this ought to make you feel better - here is my accumulation of silver (and gold) from all the wraps I've torn apart because I didn't like them. Fortunately, I can sell it back. Point is - It happens. :PS

Yeah, I think I really need to start planning my wraps ahead of time with practice wire. I just wish it bent as nicely as the real stuff.
