Thanks guys, once I started making cabs it was all ove for me. The tumbler has been idle ever since. I'm trying to learn wire wrapping now.
Hey sandsman, I sold my first ones just before Christmas...
I was proud, but sad to see them go!

Richie:
You are a natural at this. You have a nice eye for design. I know this stuff can't be that easy, but you make it look like it is.

Debs, The one with the pink is Ruby in Zoisite, and it was a booger to do. The zoisite is softer than the ruby, but at the same time it was more brittle if that makes sense. The piece started out twice as long!
Showtime, the one on the bottom left is picasso, and reallly fun to workwith. And I mis-spoke on th blue ones, they are some fairly low grade lapis I got pretty cheap!
Kim, have you worked with chrysacolla before? It's softer in spots as well and some of it has little pockets of red stuff that bleeds like crazy when you grind it.
Thanks againf for the kind words folks.

Dang rich- I wondered if you been cabbing- Seems you have been very busy! Nice work- I have a Big ole hunk of ruby/ ziosite- I have not worked it cause it is a Sh!^ to cut and try to grind- Hmmm It may just have to hit the saw- What did you use to polish it?

Stefan, I used 14,000 diamond paste, next time I think I will stabilize to get a smoother shine.
Be careful with that saw, I lost a good half of the slab I had, and I'm using a .012 diamond pro-slicer.
