I revisited this tutorial and it brought tears to my eyes. I had a lot of online dealings with John and he was just amazing. The guy was literally cutting this cab 1 handed so he could photo it with the other hand! Let that sink in for a second! When I bought his old machine I was so annoying with no less than 100 questions, and he took the time to answer every single one of them. He shipped the machine to me and it had a dent in one of the drums. He laughed and walked me through fixing it (I would be hard pressed to find where the dent was now). I had issues with building a drip system and once again he got me squared away with $.39 of hardware from the store and an extra 5 gallon bucket! I had trouble polishing and he walked me through that (along with Stoner!). I changed out the belt on the machine and he was right there walking me through it! I never did get a great cabojohn as polish flats on a round wheel just never really sunk in, but I still give it a go once in a while, just to honor a truly wonderful person!

It's good to remember people and what they have contributed to your life. Your memories are keeping him alive in the minds of others, too.

I would like to like this post ten times! John was certainly a fun, giving and wonderful person. Never met him in person, only online, but I cherish that I at least met and interacted with him here.
