BBBWWWAAAAH! Yeah, more pictures please. That is some cab!I gotta say about the one rock I have of that stuff, it seems to be more fracture free compared to the other Morgan Hill jasper. Have you noticed this or did I just get lucky with the one piece I have. BTW, I keep meaning to ask you, what tyoe of polish do you use for Morgan Hill jasper? Steve

Thanks guys, I'll get some more pics up for you. This stuff has less fractures than the MHPJ. In my tumblers, I use tin oxide and on my grinder I use diamond paste on my leather belt.

I am finding the flats the hardest thing in the world next to getting to the end of the rainbow are you putting this in a vibe after or just getting it right on the wheels?

That's right off the wheels Showtime. Funny, most people have a hard time with domes, but you mastered that part right off the bat.

Wow! A green one too! That cab looks so fine and not a fracture to be seen too! I agree. In my opinion also, the Morgan Hill material is the most fractured of the poppy jaspers. Still darn pretty material though! Great work on the cab Ed!...mel

Hey Stoner, do you use nova wheels? Becasue the case has always been opsite for me too. Domes are a breeze, flat top cabochons are not. I use an expando drum on the finish sanding, and diamond metal wheels for the corase and shaping steps. I have a flat lap for doing flats, or to polish the back. BUt with expando drums, even on a new belt is difficult to get a true flat top. Vers a concaved top, becasue the wheels are concaved. HOwever i have heard the the Nova wheels from D-pacfic make flats tops pretty well. I couldnt say though as i never have used one, but they seem to have a good siftness to them so to produce a more ridged top, vers a concaved one.

I use Nova wheels and sanding belts. My unit has an 80,100,220 hard wheels, and 280 and 1200 Nova wheels, and an expanding drum on which I use a 600, 1500, 3000 and leather belt. I also have a flat lap which I use to start with a flat surface if need be.

Thats stuff is really nice, it would be fun to hunt for the stuff but its near the landfill and all the quick silver. Dangerous stuff !
