1) just because you have two sinks does not mean that if one overflows the water will go into the other one.
2) the little drain in the bottom of the grinder can and will clog up if you don't check and keep it clear.
3) time flies when your grinding pretty rocks, and
4) my kitchen floor needed a good mopping anyway.
So I fired up my new old GP-6 just to do some pre-forming on a piece of poppy jasper and that hunk of picture jasper I got last weekend. I put a little $5 fountain pump in one sink and stoppered it up, ran the output tube to the irrigation system for the grinder, put an old milk carton under the drain tube and away I went.
I figured I didn't want the fountain pump to run the sink dry so I left water running into it, about a half hour later between all the noise from the grinder and the total attention I was paying the rocks, I missed the fact that my sink had been overflowing for some time onto the hardwood floor, and what's more the milk carton wasn't even getting full, so the grinder was starting to piss on the floor too.
OK so this weekend its all getting set up on a bench in the basement, I've got to quit being so hard on my kitchen.

Oh and after I cleaned up I tossed the stones in with a batch running 220, these will need to wait a couple weeks to see....

Oh yeah! tons o' fun, but now I need to get more STUFF! like a dopping wax cooker, wax, sticks, more slabs, and I really probably do need to replace the coarse wheel, I thought it just needed dressing, but on further examination I think its getting to the end of the diamond.
And there is the disc end of this rig that didn't have anything on it, lots more stuff I need!

OMG I can just imagine being a mouse in the corner watching as this was taking place. Sounds like it was a good lesson learned.

Ahhh hardwood floors are overrated anyway!!!! Love your little system! I use a bucket hung from the ceiling (heck gravity is cheap) but my drain runs into this 1 gallon jug- Once in a while I forget to check it (you know- you get going and poof the time is gone) and I get a mess on the floor (my workshop is carpeted so it is a pain to clean up) Or else I'll forget to make sure the drain tube is in the jug (hmm why do my feet feel wet?)

lol good thing your wife didn't catch you Actually, this is probably one of those rare occasions I can say; good thing I don't have a wife! Then again one of them might have seen the sink overflowing and stopped me.....
