Thanks for the compliments everybody! Away from home for a couple days now, and I'm already jonesing to be cutting more stones! .... I am a little concerned. You say you went through a 350 grit belt. Was it used to begin with? A new belt should last a lot longer... Steve Well my irrigation pump ran dry a time or two and that seemed to really expedite the wear- in fact it seemed as though diamond compund was just shedding into gray goop as soon as the drips stopped. And I only said I burned halfway through, mostly the center portion of the belt which I guess saw the most action- but I expect another 50 or so cabs should not be a problem with what's left, probably even more if I remember to shut down and refill my irrigation system regularly.
