Hi Everyone, As promised more cabs. Thought I lost my camera today, was taking pictures, and it fell on a hard floor, so from then on it would only turn on, then go right off. After a lot of messing around, finally thought, what the heck, change the batteries. Has worked fine ever since. Perfect timing for the batteries to go dead OK Here are a few; Rainbow Obsidian from Glass Buttes, Oregon. Some local jasper agate from Fall Creek, Oregon. This is a large "cab" about 4"x2", Rainbow Obsidian. I etched the rose with a sand etcher. You can see the natural mini snowflake in it too. I made it for my wife. This is another cab of Rainbow Obsidian, From Glass Buttes. Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend ;D Dan www.dbrockwerks.com

Dan those are great! Did you know you could also buy a creme that etches? you stick on the decal, then apply a layer of thick cream, then leave it on for about 15seconds & then wash off - it could be another solution for a small scale project

Hi Everyone, The best way to describe sand etching, is that you find or make a template, then tape it down real good, on domed cabs you have to push down on the template as you go so the blast doesn't get under the template. Sand etching is a can of pressurized air, with a can of grit (Yes Tumble grit, 100, or 220) on the nozzle, you can just spray real quick spurts so it is real controllable. The more you blast it, the deeper the etch, you can do real light etches, or frosty white etches, you can do display cabinets, windows, glasses, jars, any glass pretty much. The etch on that cab I blasted for about 7-10 seconds, unwrap it, wash it, done. The wrapping takes way longer than the actual etch process. It is very easy, just tape or wrap everything you don't want blasted, go slow, and it is no problem. They sell kits, or parts, google, "sand etch kits". Let me know if you have any questions, we have etched a lot of things. Take Care everyone, Dan www.dbrockwerks.com
