For the holidays my Nephew wants some books on learning how to do various Lapidary work. Instead of me spending like a bazillion hours teaching him...I was looking for a good book that might touch upon like the various subjects of it....like Wire wrapping, cabbing etc....and of course a bit of tumbling...as I'm buying him a small tumbler to have fun with...Just wondering if anyone could make a good book reccomendation...I never used books to learn what I have...so i'm clueless on which ones are good.
Thanks in Advance, Noah

Way to go. I wish someone had done the same for me years ago. I found some great books on opal polishing, cabbing, tumbling, faceting in the book section of Indian Jewelers Supply. Rio has some great books, and videos on wire wrapping. Good for you. If you do not have a catalogue, I can look some up for you and give you catalogue numbers. They are not expensive and you should get them for Christmas.

Get "The Rockhounds Handbook." It covers everying: tumbling, cabbing, cutting, finding rock, properties of different rock, ect... It is a very good book for beginers. You can find it at bergs rock shop.
