Hi Everyone, When I first joined this board a few weeks ago I made an offer on the member intro page, thought I might post it here as well. I live about 30 mi NE of Eugene, Oregon, and if anyone is, or going to be in the area, and wants a FREE cab lesson or two or three, get a hold of me. There are zero strings attatched, no catches, I am offering FREE Cabbing lessons PERIOD . I will even supply the rock, unless you have something you would rather work, either way is fine. If this sounds like something you would like to do, or if you have never played with Lapidary machines, and want to give it a try, Contact me. As I said no strings at all. I am just trying to give people an opportunity that I never had. I am pretty much trial and error self taught. So, if you have been putting off learning how to cab, or just messing around a bit with the machines, get a hold of me and we will set up a time. I guess this is my little way of helping the rockhounding community ;D Take Care everyone, Dan www.dbrockwerks.com

No kidding Dan, that's a really nice offer. Too bad Minnesota is so darn far away from Oregon. Very nice of you to offer though, hope some of the members up in that corner see your post.

Hey, Dan! Why don't you do a tutorial with step-by-step photos and post them on the Board? I'd love to visit you, but don't see it happening any time soon...that way we all could benefit from your expertise. ;D S

Hi Everyone, I too hope that some people take me up on the offer. I am always into meeting new friends, and I am sure I will learn a few things myself, so it is a two-way street. I love helping people along and watching their confidence build as they learn more. I never had much of a chance to mess with Lapidary equipment when I was begininng, I pretty much made most if not all of my equipment at first. But the more I got into it the more people I met. I just wanted to offer some people a chance to see what the equipment is all about, get a little hands on, and of course ask questions. If someone with more experience than me wants to come over, that's great too, I am always into learning more. Or if you want to come out and watch me make a cab, that great to. I am easy to get along with, who knows you may even leave with an extra rock or two. ;-) NMRocks, that is a great idea, I will have to work that one out. If you can think of any pictures of the process that you would like me to take, let me know. I will ponder that, and try to work something out. If anyone has any ideas, please pass them along. Great Idea! Dan www.dbrockwerks.com

Hi All, Tweetiepy, I do make house calls if the price is right, ;-) I have started the tutorial, it will be a few days before it gets done, I'll probably have to make it a pdf and post it on our site. If there are parts of the process that are a mystery, let me know and I can emphasize those points. I will probably do a simple freeform, since the freeform principles can be applied to calibrated cabs easily. I will let you all know when it done. TTYS, Dan www.dbrockwerks.com
