Why did you use the PDF format instead of just a web page?

Hi Cher, It is just so much easier for me, (on dial-up) to upload one single PDF file, instead of a few bigger files. I also wanted it in a format that was common and people could download, or print it. I had to do our whole website on dial up. It took about 100 hours to get it online at first, and quite a few hours since then. We live in the boonies, so DSL, or Broadband, is a ways away yet, other than satellite, but that is $100 a month, :-( I hope you enjoy the tutorial. Dan www.dbrockwerks.com

I do all of my websites on dial up, and my clients as well. I'm sorry Dan but when it came up PDF, I shut it down as soon as it turned loose of my puter. I really dislike the format and for me, they take forever to load. The cost is the same reason that I am still on dial-up so I do know what you mean about slowness.

Dan - Thanks for the tutorial. I've read several others but it's always good to see different techniques and styles. Cher - Do you have Adobe reader? It's free to install and use...surely you have it! If not you can get it here.... www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.htmlBe sure and uncheck the Yahoo toolbar and Adobe photoshop starter edition..that will save you 7Mbs of downloading...it will still be 20Mb. Here's one you might like also...Free PDF converter (converts from Word, Excell, Etc...) It's completely free ...no pop-ups or nag screens. www.primopdf.com/

Hi Everyone, Thanks, it was a first shot. I hope someone can get a little something out of it. Feel free to ask any questions, on or off board. Cher, I'm not a huge fan of most adobe prods either, but it seems to be about the most common, so that's why I went with it. I would be more than happy to print out a copy and mail it to you if you em me and addy. No Problem. Now I want to see everyones cabs made from reading the tutorial. :-) Happy Cabbin, Dan www.dbrockwerks.com

Hi Sandsman1, I have seen you cabojons, they look great. I too like working with misfits, 99% of the cabs I do for me, are just throw away bits of rock, but get magiclly brought back to life, ;-) Domes can be tricky, probably the hardest part to keep in porportion, but if you evenly grind the bevels towards the center, rounding off the bevel meet points as you go, they usually turn out pretty good, but like anything, the more you do it the easier it is. If you ever get out this way be sure to look me up, be glad to make a cab or two with you. Take Care, Dan www.dbrockwerks.com

Thanks so much for the Cab Tutorial! Having never done cabs before this will really help when that day and cash for the equipment arrive!
Be Well
