Moving my stuff to the basement, doing a Rally in southern cal and a few other distractions made this batch take a couple weeks longer than I had planned, but I'm pretty pleased with the outcome; And I found a couple of pieces of OJ in a local store, paid way too much for them, being as they were already patially polished, but after sawing them up and cutting a couple of cabs from it I have no regrets, and look forward to working more of this stuff! Finally a few from slabs that stoner so generously donated to my cause; Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the positive feedback folks!
Still not quite playing in your league Shain, but I am coming along.
I'm up over 100 pieces already, so I have picked up a trick or two, but being all self/book taught I've still got a lot more to learn.

Dont under estimate yourself Rally, You are coming along perfectly! I see all quality stones, and care in each cut. I still get allot of requests and interests for lower priced cabs on my site. Because i cut allot of cabs like yours here and they sell great! You always find a select cab out of a batch that is top notch, and to me, that is your red diamond cab on the last photo. very nice indeed. Though i would like a teacher in some aspects of lapidary, i think most folks like us are self taught. AS it really is an easy way to express oneself. having a decent machine is usually the biggest trial of it all. Keep it up!

Those are really neat Rally - the OJ is incredible, love the peachy one. I'm impressed with the shine on the poppy jasper, I've only worked a little piece and couldn't get a shine on the matrix around the poppies. Did you use diamond paste on them?

Yes they were all done with hard wheels at 80 and 220, then on diamond belts at 325, 400, 600,1200 and 3000- finally diamond paste on resin belts for 14000 and 50000.
