Nice cabs Shain from some very nice material. I wonder though, how you were able to obtain some of Mel's poppy jaspers? Well at least someone was able to get some of it.

You're very welcome Shain. It's the least I could do for all the kewl contest fun you're providing the board. Gosh darn though! You put my meager cabbing skills totally to shame. Boy you really brought out the beauty in those rocks. I also was amazed to find so much pyrite in those jaspers when I found them. Cubic pyrite crystals in jasper seemed odd to me but now that I'm accustomed to hunting the area, it seems to be sort of an identifier for many of the types. I'll have to post a couple of my pics of some of the picture type jaspers from the area. They often have seams of pyrite along with the cubes against a purple black jasper background. Looks almost like a starry sky!....mel

What i really liked is the second to last cab, it perfectly displays the life of one of these little poppies. You can see the bottom were they start to grow up through the rich rd color, then they expand, were the color is mostly white, and flip inside out to were there are rings of white withe red in the center. way to cool and in my opinion and reall collector. That starry night stuff sound pretty cool Mel. I have been finding my my over stocks a view material of calcite and quartz with perfect cubes of pryrite kinda strewn through the vien, not compacted and soft material. But nice becasue the way the cubes polish out like. Thanks again Mel, as i didnt have really any decent Jasper from that area of Califorina.
