There were 2 slabs of Tiffany stone in that box from Sands and it was just sitting there looking so pretty and lonely, so I cut a section off and cabbed it up. You're right John, it took a little coaxing to get that stuff to take a polish, but I finally managed to get a halfway decent shine on it. The other stone is a piece of jasper I got from Robert(rocksd) but I forgot what he said it is. Tiffany stone 40x30mm I-forgotite 40x13mm Maybe when Robert sees this he'll tell us what the last pic is.

I love the shape of the forgotite. The other one is kinda disturbing. Cool!

I love working Tiffany Stone becasue it can be challanging. Nice work Ed, what do you think of the material? Just so folks know, Tiffany Stone is unclassifiable. its not a mineral, its a rock. And ive spoken with many geoglisg about it and all agree though its still a rock, they cant classify it. There are three minerals that make it up on average and those would be Silica, Opal, and Dolomite.
The second cab has an awesome shape, i really like it. Looks like Gary green jasper or swap bog jasper. nice work!

Thanks everyone. Shain, this stuff is okay to work, pretty soft so the cabs are fast to make, but I just wish it would take a better shine. Cher, the tiffany stone is actually purple-ish in color, if that's the stone you meant.

Yuppers, that be the one. It's a very cool stone, good you said it was soft, now I know that I don't want any no matter how pretty it is.

There are grades of silica rich Tiffany Stone, and it works like agate. BUt they get very pricey very fast. and even the lower grade stuff gets upwards of $20 per pound! yikes!
