Hi all. Here's a cab made from the jade Tony was giving away last weekend. This slab wasn't as troublesome as some of the other jade I've worked on. Very little undercutting. It's a nice transluscent green and white. It started out as an oval but a chunk broke off right off the bat. 38x25mm thanks Tony. Next up is a cab made from that outstanding material John sent me. I didn't want to waste any of it so I just cut a slab and ground the rough edges off and went from there. 45x30mm Thank you John, this stuff is awesome.

OMG that boulder opal is absolutely stunning, what a gorgeous cab. Amazing job you did Ed, and a great picture too. Beautiful jade cab, I got some of Tony's jade to play with too, I've got to get my grinder going!

Man that stuff is nice but that boulder opal is breathtaking - that is a work of art literally - it looks like a red cally lily with gold.... I'm off to wipe tears of joy!

Nice Jade, Just got mine yesterday and will be cutting it this weekend. That Boulder is way to fine Ed. Awesome shape and way to go with keeping it Natural. I do that many times with rocks, probley 1 out of three would be natural freeforms. Just let the cab do all the shaping i say. If you put it up for sale, folks will be most interested, including me. hint. hint.

Thanks everyone. And a special thanks to you John for allowing me to work such a nice material. I guess I should have put that opal on a seperate post because it is a show stopper compared to other material. This piece of jade Tony gave me is really nice stuff too and thank you Tony for such a nice slab. I bought some boulder opal from the shop that was going out of business, but never got around to cabbing any of it. Even on sale it was very expensive, but it doesn't hold a candle to the material John sent me.

Wow, is that boulder opal even real, or just something you created with photoshop? ;D I've never seen anything like that before, very impressive.
