Hey Folks, here is some latest greatest. The frist is a super fine example of Ture Blue mtn. The miner told me how to cut for the Blue Mtn. Can you see the Blue mtn? These next two are from a tumbled nugget Sbreed gave me while visiting last weekend. I cut it into 2 fine cabs. The diamond shape cab was cut with four facets on the top. Quartz plays with light easy, and faceting the dome can reall make the light jump. This piece is from Mel(sabre52) And is called Strawberry jasper, perfect i thought! ONly if i had some green. This is a cabochon of some new material coming out of the Morenci Mine in Arizona. Mainly native copper in quartz. ITs hard and durbale stuff, but needs a sealer to polish out. And the copper metal can be touchy when rough shaping. I got the rough from West coast miners, but have another source if anyone is interested. And this last one came from Sbreed too. If anyone followed the "christmas for me" thread in the general area. Will see photos of thise piece rough. I stated it was sagenite and moss. Well after close examination and cutting. IT actually Moss, Plume and Tube agate. a little bit of everything. HOwever there no plumes in this cab, only tubes and moss, still very cool. *Backlit Thanks for looking.

Very nice Shain. The blue mt. came out really nice, nice picture on the face of it. The rutilated quartz is cool too and of course, the last one is one you know I like.

Man Shain, You and Ed are both creating some amazing cabs. That Blue Mountain material is totally cool. Love those swirlies coming off the yellow area. I really like that cab. It all looks GREAT! Steve

Great job Shain. I've gotta say that is one of the nicest Blue Mountain cabs I've seen. Reminds me of the old timey material that is pretty darn scarce these days. Doesn't take any stretch of the imagination to see why they call it Blue Mountain too.....mel

Thanks Guys, Yes, Blue Mt is my fav out of all the gem jaspers. It even tops morrisonite becasue you can still get scenes like in this cab. Without haivn got pay outragouse prices. As i bought a small slabet of Morrisonite showing a large group of Orbs. The piece will cut one small ring cab, and costed $18 after shipping. When that piece this cab came from costs $20, and i got sevral slabs off it, all the same. Daniel actaully ended up with the last thick slab off the rough this cab came from, and he was very pleased.

Yeah, there is one slab left with a green orb. I need to find my slab grabber. I think I can get two good tumble finished shapes out of the slab - one with the green, and the other with a lt-blue dk-blue contact. Maybe I'll get another shape out of the new end cut, or just tumble it as is.
Too many projects, too little time!
