What sweet stones you have! Yeah the shape of the Bear Creek cab is good ( even if it''s displayed upside down! ) and I like the look of the Mariposa.

Awesome shapes and shine on those cabs Ed! Man, you crank out nice cabs faster than anyone I know. That second cab is fossil stromatolite from Delany's Rim, Wamsutter, Wyoming from near where the turritella agate comes from. Like them all but boy the glowing gold opalized wood, the loose moss and that purplish fortification agate are really nice!.....mel

Wow all way cool but you really nailed the shape on the bearcreek agate, that's just really neat! The opalized wood is pretty too, that yellow/gold is amazing.

Ooooh..like that Rocky Butte material..looks like it has a few natural pits (kinda hard too tell from the pic) but I still think it's fantastic...great colors. The Opalized wood is awesome too....really, I like 'em all!

Thanks everyone. I really like working that opalized wood. It's softer than most wood so it shapes up pretty fast but it takes a great shine. I'm going to try and cut a cab out of the wood that has just the black material and see how that looks. That one from Bearcreek wasn't originally shaped that way. I noticed as fracture while I was shpaing it and had to take it back to the saw, and this is what it wound up being. The Rocky Butte doesn't have any pits, just a bunch of brown spots and is some pretty hard material.
