Wow I love the colors of those red stones Sands. It's gorgeous! What kind of rock is it? It just glitters! Debs - It is starburst jasper. The stars can undercut a bit in a tumbler. Some pieces are more altered than others. Some slabs have clearer stars than others. I broke up a small slab as part of my very first Lot-O batch last December. They were a little softer than the rest of the batch, so I set them aside until I had a whole batch of softer stuff. Here are thumbnails very-dry, damp-dry, and wet. It can be tumbled though. I gave some to Randy and he made a few pendants. Here is one he sent me back: I got a huge 10# chunk of pretty good quality stuff, but also a few slabs with less distinct stars. If you want one of those, I could send it to you and you could send me back a slab of whatever you have. I'm not too picky in this case. PM me if interested.

You can also find that jasper called Spider Jasper. Though its really a ryolite. Very nice cuts John. I like the Green one the best. When its green inclusions its not Rutile, it usally Green tourmaline, or Epodite. Thanks for sharing!
