Holy Freakin' WoW!! Tweet, you made that chain by hand? How many jump rings does it take to make something like that and how the heck do you keep it straight what one comes next? That's a really really nice gift and that cab will look way cool on it. I bet you can guarantee that's one chain that will never break.

Love that can Sands....but Holy Crap on that chain Tweet! How the heck do you keep your patience intact, before going insane making something like that. That is a great looking chain, and I sure can't wait to see the finished wrapped cab hanging on that chain. Beautiful stuff from both of you. You both ROCK! Steve

Hey Sands, you have no idea how happy I am that you got that - the post office made me fill out a paper for small packages and I'm thinking they're gonna lose it, that's why they made me fill out that form *whew!*
John if it,s too long, PM me and I could walk you through how to shorten it for your daughter - or send it back to me and I'll shorten it for you. (remember to tighten the clasp periodically)
That was one of the projects I did while watching - um - listening to the TV - I could only do about 1" per day, sometimes less so it took a while - this chain is 20" as I thought it was for Sands himself.
How many rings are in there.... I have no idea maybe 1300 rings they're really tiny - they were 24 gauge Stainless Steel in 1/16" (which were really tough to open & close even at that size)
Can't wait to see the wrapped stone on there - please post a picture

An inch a day, wow girl you have way more patience than I do, that's amazing. Did you make the rings or did you buy them premade? I am really impressed Tweet, it's awesome! I can see why you'd be worried about the post losing it, that would have been terrible.
PS Tweet, is that hard to learn how to do?

That is very nice indeed, way to Go Tweet! And that called Charolite by the way. It forms similar to Seraphinite, but chemical it is different.

Cher. Tami got me hooked on this chainmail thing - it's easy to learn - my 10 year old daughter did some - in a bigger size and I bought those rings - you can make them with knitting needles if you want but I bought my rings - I made another chain for a co-worker with earrings out of the 1 oz of rings I had - I made my mom one out of 24 gauge wire 3/32" diameter rings but I made a spiral chain for her
Cher if you want a site for any chainmail - let me know I'll PM you the site
