Nice job Mel, on the photos and the cabs! A new tip; when taking qualtiy photos make sure you use the highest resolution setting on your digital. That way, no matter how far away you are(still get as close as possible). YOu can crop you iamge down so you can frame the cab better. (this is what i do). Just so there no extra room for the eye to wander. Keep them on the cab. Also, indoor lighting usally is tugsten and trows a yellow color over everything. I can see it in you last two photos. There are studio lights, but 60watt halogen works for me great.

Thanks for the photo tips Shain I actually took all those pics outside but used sort of a tent to try to cut the glare and reflection. One of these days I'll get a real light tent setup with halogen lighting...mel

Hmmm, did you use the tent in the last photos only? or just a background? Becasue thats were i see that color. The frist 5 photos dont have that color.

Shain: The last two photos had a dull green backdrop because I wanted to try to show the stones in reflected light. The first pics all used an open backed cardboard tent so I could cut the glare but still show the plume well with light transmitted through the cabs...mel

Your doing a great job working with the light, Mel. A light tent is a great way of doing close up work. Very nice job on the cabs! I just never tire of seeing what can be done with rocks. Bill
