Hi all. Well it was a rough couple of days with no cabbing machine around and knowing that I had a bunch of new stuff from KD at home, but I made it. All but the carey plume is from the box of cabbing material KD sent me last week. She'll have to let me know what some of this stuff is, other than cool looking rocks. Seraphanite? 28x12mm This stuff is like butter on a hot day, with nice shimmer to it. Next 2 are leopardskin jasper, 30x22mm Orbicular agate of some kind, 30x22mm Unknown agate 38x18mm backlit Carey Plume 40x10mm backlit These next 3 are some kind of plume agate. 30x12mm 32x18mm 24x18mm backlit Thanks for looking.

Yep, agree with Cal on the first one. *L* I don't know if the spelling is right or not #2+3 are Mexican Leopardskin Jasper. #4 looks like the Ocean Jasper, #5 red Moss from Texas or maybe Pacific Northwest, and the Black Plumes are probably either from the Marfa, Texas area, just south of there in o Old Mexico or the Pacific Northwest. Another fantastic bunch of cabs Ed!..mel

"I'm Back" . . . . . just like Fast Eddie Felson.
That 1st/3 plume is a beaut. Looks like evergreen branches in there!

Wow! Stoner! you did those pieces justice! yep, Seraphinite on the first for sure and i think Mel got the rest ID better than i could. (#4 is some Ocean Jasper that my folks ordered from Kingsley North for me for Christmas and Sands slabbed it for me while he was still in Philly..!).
i love the way you cabbed that black plume, you have real talent.

I agree with Mels ID too, and that frist one does catch the light nice. Kinda futuristic. Nice shapes Ed, they are chnaging up real nice. Espically in those black plumes. I think the carey my fav, but they are are real nice!

Thanks everyone, and thanks for the ID's. I was surpised working on the Seraphinite because even though I felt it was soft when I cut it, I found I had to skip all the way to the 280 Nova wheel to do any shaping. But it does take an incredible shine. The plumes were fun and I used every bit of that slab, just ground away the rough edges and let the plumes dictate the shape. These took about 2 1/2 hours to cut and polish. The freeforms go a lot faster than the calibrated cabs. Thanks again and thank you Cher for the bouncing droolers, those guys are really cool.

This one looks like a winter snow scene, like you're looking through some evergreens with snow swirling around them. It could be a christmas card. I've decided (for me anyway) it's the best of all of them! And your welcome Stoner, I know how you like them drooly critters. *smile*

Hey Cher, you're right about the winter scene, but I'll have to take your word for it because the closest I come to a snowstorm is opening my freezer, and that's fine by me!
