It's been a while since I posted any, but here they are. I've been worrying about photography techniques too much and haven't been posting unless I figured it out. Two really bright lights, a tripod, some velvet the cats love and a wacky computer program later I'm pretty happy. So here they are! Steve Two Morgan Hill's A big Guadalupe jasper. This guy went through a regrind/repolish twice, but the results made it worth it! Two Laguna agates. I got these a long time ago from ebay. I recently looked where they came from, and to my surprise: Bear Creek Lapidary! Amethyst sage agate. I this was tough to polish, but I am happy with it. Sugilite Two more Morgan Hill dudes One more and a dryhead. The dryhead went though a regrind a few times too. I think with rose quartz it will look like Neopolitan (sp)ice cream! And a really dome-ish Morgan Hill jasper. This was an endcut. It's about 3/4 of an inch high! Very fun to cut.

WOW!!! You may not have been posting much, but when you do, man, they're excellent. The photos are great too Steve. The only thing I would suggest is some sort of diffusion for the lamps. Either that or don't put such a high gloss shine on your cabs!!! Beautiful poppies on those pieces, especially the Gaudalupe. Wow. Excellent work.

Great group of cabs. Being a poppy jasper fiend, those are of course my favs! Regarding the amethyst sage cab: Sounds to me and looks to me more like Tiffany Stone ( bertrandite) as it matches your description of being difficult to polish. The Amethyst Sage is usually highly dendritic and polishes like glass with absolutely no effort....mel

Wow big pics but beautiful cabs! I'm not sure which I like best but that dryhead agate is way high on the list. That's really awesome!

Way to Go RL, Nice cabs and shots! There are ac ouple tricks to reduce that glare. BUt i agree that the only issue i see. My favs The Sugi and the Dryhead. Nice shapes, color and contrast. I agree with Mel, but i have heard of grades of Amethyst Sage to be a little tricky on the polish end. Never ran into any but it sure looks like A-sage. BUt Tiffany can look that that too.
