I hope you folks aren't getting tired of these Koroit Boulder Opals. I was working on clearing my shop today making way for the plumber and decided to take a short break. Good excuse, huh? Well it turned out to be a 2 hour break and I managed to cut these cabs. Not as much flash in these, but still nice. This one has no opal, just the matrix. 33x15mm A patch of white opal 30x12mm 30x14mm 33x12mm 30x20mm Something a little different looking 23x18mm Another cab from the cool piece the other day 22x16mm And the grand-daddy of them all. 36x30mm Hope you enjoy them.

Thanks guys. The best part about working this stuff is that you never really know how it's going to turn out because you either uncover more opal or grind more of it away. The first one started out with just a small spec of opal and as soon as I started grinding the dome, bam, it was gone and there wasn't anymore in that piece. The fourth one started with no opal, and then as I was grinding, it started showing up. If I kept going, it may have gone away. Neat, but weird stuff.

Me either Ed, I will go with the second to the lsat please. Similar cabs like that i haev seen, still see sell for over $100 eassssyy. And if and when you sell such a piece, dont be afriad to price such that high. It may sit for a little while, but i would have a hard time even saying that for such a piece. It Is even better than the other one for the thread the other day. The main point would be the field of saturation in this cab. Its full, at least 85%. And i bet each vienlet fires so nice in person and under sunlight. But the photo is a good rep of the stone. I know that last one is nice too, i can tell the crystal pocket is awesome. But less saturation, at least in the photo. Way to go, and keep them coming.

I'm dying here! My favorite has got to be #7 followed by 5 & 8 but I still like #1 it looks llike it has tiny little pinpoints of opal but #7 takes the cake & my breath away! If I could, I'd add some of Cher's droolies here *insert bouncy droolers here* If you do some again, I wouldn,t mind seeing the rough before you start working them - just to see what they looked like before. BTW did I mention that I really like #7? Excellent work

Ed-
I can't beleive how gorgeous those are, I really could look at them all day. You know my favorite stone is Opal, but when you throw in the wildness of Koroits it just makes them so much more interesting. I've got a gorgeous opal, but now it's kinda plain after looking at Koroits - you could just keep staring at them all day and not see everything in them.
I love 7 the most too because it has the "fangs" in them. Good work, Ed. You're smokin'.
