I have a used cabbing machine that I am trying to get working. It is Ringleader by Crystalite. A sticker on the machine says we should use "Crystal Cut" additive (in the water that drips on the wheels, I assume). Where can I get this or a substitute?

Don't bother. I've been using my grinder for a year and a half with straight water with no rust or any other ill effects.

Then you local water companies putting something in the water to inhibit rust Ed. Here in the Valley Metro of Pheonix, water will rust metal very fast. So i use a rust inhibitor like crystal cut. Bcasue its actaully gonna help prevent rust from forming on the egde of a metal grinder wheel. Thats more of a concer for me becuase it rust starts on the wheels egde, you will start lossing diamond and in the short run, have to replace your wheel.
So maybe your local watr company puts in something that is already helping crub that becasue of the local plubming system? Worth calling and asking no matter were you live. That way if they dont, i personally wouldnt chance it unless you already planning to get a new wheel. And if you do clean out your pan on rutine, this will also keep rust away for a long while.
If you dont order it online, check with your local hardware store too, they should carry some form of dry powder rust inhibitor. OR local jewelry supply store may carry it also if they carry any lapidary supplies.

Everyone,
Thanks for your suggestions! Not wanting to take chances with my diamond wheels, I'm going to order some Crystal Cut from Kingsley North. I'll probably ask about other rust inhibitors next time I'm at a hardware store.
