Happy August folks. Here are some more cabs cut from pieces that broke off the larger slabs. 38x24mm 28x14mm 22x12mm 21x11mm note, the white spots are NOT pits And a piece of Rutilated quartz. What appear to be scratches on the surface are actually inside the stone. 18x14mm black backround white backround Thanks for looking. ps. I just finished two more Rutilated quartz cabs. Except for a few little bubbles just right of center, this one is perfectly clear. These are more of Bearcreek's material. 27x17mm 22x20mm

Wow! Love the rutilated quartz and the Antelope is cool too. I have some heading for the tumbler now, but mine doesn't have all that good banding. That particular pattern makes for a colorful and intersting cab....mel

Thanks everyone. That rutilated quartz was a lot of fun to work with. And you're right Stephan, making sure ALL the scratches were gone from the back of the cabs was a challenge. I had to go back 3 times on the oval one to clean it up. As for the antelope pieces, well, I haven't even started cutting the slabs to select a pattern, these were pieces that just happen to break off while I was cutting the slabs. There are some nice scenes in the slabs where I'll be able to choose some nice cabs. Tweetie, I posted my collection of cabs about 6 months ago, but maybe it's time for an update. And Kim, just cuz I'm back, doesn't mean you can stop cutting cabs. I enjoy seeing your work. What you need to do is light a fire under John's butt and get him cutting and posting his cabs.

I love am all, what can I say. The patterns on those antelopes are just too cool for words. And the rutilated quartz, well I'm still drooling. They are so clear and fascinating. It's very captivating. I've got some Rutilated quartz dopped up for the next batch, but it's nothing like that. Suddenly I want to get right to it! That polish on those is something else. I think my favorite Rutialted is the first. I like the inclusions. Those are amazing. STeve
