Here are four cabs out the last batch of Seraphinite (Clinoclore) I've done. These are selling wholesale for $30.00 and retail for $60.00. Seraphinite is difficult to cab, due to it's fragility. But it is so beautiful when it's done right! It's worth the extra work! These are all in the 40mm long range, so you can guage the size. These pics don't do them justice at all. Fatty

Very nice FR, good work on them too! The frist or the last is my fav becasue of the vivid fanning detail. But i bet they look so much nicer in person. And flash or roll in better.
Really, $30 wholesale huh? From my personal experince thats a highend gemshow rate. Online i see large cabs sell for have the wholesale rate. a 37gram cab sold for only $22 yesterday on ebay. And it had a perfect fan shape, blooming up the cabochon. I personally say that piece should of sold higher. Still you did an awesome job.

Yea Rich, it's really nice to see your work. It's been a while. I'm getting tired of looking at my cabs, and I'm sure everyone else is too.(I hope not!) Anyway, those cabs are awesome. I love the shapes and you cut the pieces just right to bring out the beauty of the stone. I did one of these a few weeks ago and had no idea this stuff was so soft. I was still removing material when I got to the 1200 belt. It takes a great shine though. Excellent work, now let's see some more.

Ooooooo Rich those are beautiful, that stuff is totally amazing. Stunning job on all of them, I can't even pick one I like the best.
Hey dude, nice to see you, hope you've been busy cabbing and that's what has kept you away from the forum. Also hope you'll be posting more soon. NOT the least bit tired of Ed's cabs or anyone elses, just like to look at the great talent we have here. Need more pics!!

What you said KD! "like polishing mud". What a great analogy! But the finished product is very much worth the effort.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. Work has kept me very busy and too far away from the board. I spend my time working, working on cabs and working around the house!
Freeform, $30.00 was considered very fair by the buyers. I am not interested in selling my cabs for prices that compete with the chinese and machine worked cabs. The mass produced cabs are squared and bare little resemblence to what I am doing. Mine were also 40 plus grams each and a couple were over 50 grams. The ones I am showing here are also forty plus grams.
Nothing I produce is worth less than $15.00, but my goal is to produce quality material, at a fair price, if someone wants to purchase. If I don't sell stone, then I get to look at them and give them away to folks I appreciate.
I am sorry I've been away folks. I will post more pics and try to be around a bit more! Thanks again for all the kind words and encouragement! You are a great bunch.

Seraphinite is really pleasant to work because of its soapy texture. It's my first post so I will try to do better for the next photographs. I polish it with tin oxide but after with marble polish powder. It's a cheap material (industrial material) which give a high shine (gloss) on soft material (less than 5 on mohs scale). I won't sell on EBAY, I sell at local shows and markets. I could care less what they sell for on EBAY. ANYTHING, is only worth what you can sell it for.
What have I done to deserve your challenge of my honesty for selling my stones at a good price when you have not seen or held one in your hand?
I am not trying to sell you, or anyone else on this board. I am only sharing my experiences. I don't need the approval of this board, but I value the groups opinions. Even yours.

FR, i am not challanging your hounesty. I am currently in a mode the past month on market reseach for my cabochons biz. And the "teresarocks" thread set me off in another driection. So my tone carried over very easily.
Your stated price is fair for a specifc market. Not a open market. Thats all. BUt not everyone will be able to use a specfic market like you have. So we in the biz, must rely on the open market most of the time, and a specfic market sometimes. And one thing i personally have learned selling cabochons in the past 6 years. Dont put a price on it if your dont want to sell them. Thats great you able to get that price. BUt if others took that and put a similar set online for sale. and they didnt sell. What happens then? They drop the price, or state here in RTH that your were incorrect? I know you can get that price in a specific market, not an open one. Please dont take offesne. Becasue im giving you my experince selling cabochons in the past 6 years. And i dont want other cabochon cutters to be confused if they tried to market online.
