Gee I have no favorite! How can I, they're all wonderful! I like the first one best but they're all my favorites
Shamus a cab is a cabochon or shaped piece - you can make them with a grinder or a tumbler sometimes

Thanks everyone, I was suprised by the Gaudalupe cab. It didn't show much promise in the rough, but as I started grinding away it really came to life. As for the ruby in zoisite, I've seen it for sale on ebay but had no idea what it was like or why the say "ruby", cuz I sure didn't see any reuby in there. It's really soft material and only takes a so-so shine. I'll have to try a few more to see what happens.

Man oh man what a gorgeous batch!! I love them all. Ed, not surprised you had some problems with working the ruby in zoisite. Even worse when it has lots of ruby and so is the ruby in fucshite sp? ( sold as " Sultan's Ruby") Both gave me fits when I last tried some....mel
